JBL Strips Paige of the NXT Women’s Championship (Video)

On this week’s episode of WWE NXT, General Manager JBL stripped current champion Paige of the NXT Women’s Championship.

Anyone who has been following WWE Diva Paige knows that the young superstar has made quite an impact on the main roster. After coming to the ring to do nothing more than congratulate former Divas Champion A.J. Lee on her win at WrestleMania and tell her what a great job she has been doing as Divas Champion.

After letting her ego get the best of her, A.J. challenged Paige to an impromptu match where as a special “post-WrestleMania treat” she would put her Divas Championship on the line.

In a shocking finish, Paige was able to pin the Divas Champion, and take away the belt that she held for a good majority of the year. As a result, Paige became the first woman to hold both the NXT Championship and the Divas Championship at the same time.

This is certainly an accomplishment for the young Diva; however, this presents a slight problem for the WWE.

On this week’s episode, NXT General Manager JBL approached Paige about the title situation. First, he congratulated her for her accomplishment, assuring her that this is something that history could never take away from her. However, it was then that he informed her that the decision has been made to strip her of the NXT Women’s Championship.

Now, before everyone gets all upset, he actually does have a good reason.

Here is a look at the discussion between JBL and Paige on this week’s episode of NXT.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Paige as much as the next person, and I think she is destined for great things on the main roster; however, it really isn’t fair for the remainder of the women in NXT who are trying to battle their way to the top to not have a champion to face because of her extensive schedule on the main roster.

What do you think of the General Manager’s decision? Do you think it was unfair to strip her of the title, or do you think JBL made the right decision on behalf of the women’s locker room on NXT? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
