Karine Icher leads, Lydia Ko two back after round one of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic

Karine Icher leads the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic by two strokes after firing a six-under 66 at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, California.  Icher registered six birdies and no bogies.  She has 32 career top-10s without a victory.

Five players are tied for second place at four-under: Lydia Ko, Ilhee Lee, Jenny Shin, Maria McBride, and Dewi Claire Schreefel.

Lydia Ko turned 17-years-old today, and already has two wins on the LPGA Tour.  After a strong start to the 2014 season, Ko has been struggling for the last month, so hopefully the solid round one score is a sign of more low rounds in the future.

Top-10 machine Stacy Lewis is tied for seventh place at three-under.  Lewis has six top-10s in seven events this season.

Morgan Pressel is among the group at three-under.

Suzann Pettersen is tied for twelfth place at two-under.  According to Randall Mell of the Golf Channel, Pettersen is coming  off a month-long break from tournament golf due to a back injury.  Her game was rusty in round one with a triple-bogey on the eleventh hole, and a bogey on the par-5 fourteenth.

Michelle Wie is at even par and World No. 1 Inbee Park is at one-over.
