When ever a new head coach comes in or a new regimes enters the equation for a franchise, the first two things to be reconsidered are the head coach and the quarterback. The Tennessee Titans have brought in new head coach Ken Whsenhunt which has led many to believe that Jake Locker’s days are numbered, but that may not be the case.

According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, Whisenhunt doesn’t believe he absolutely needs his own quarterback to groom and rely on.

"“To be honest, I haven’t really thought about it that way. I am excited about the little bit of time I have spent with Jake. He exhibits a lot of the qualities I like. He has been great in the meeting rooms, I like the way our exchanges have gone. So our focus is on that.”"

His comments come on the heels of an offseason in which the here has been much doubt cast over the future of Locker and many questions raised about quarterbacks that Tennessee could take. So far, there seems to be no interest in taking a quarterback at No. 11 and Whisenhunt’s latest quote helps paint a picture as to why.
