College football recruiting: Kahlil McKenzie down to USC, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Arizona and Wisconsin

Top 2015 defensive lineman prospect Kahlil McKenzie has yet to verbally announce his collegiate decision, however he is getting rather close as according to Rivals he has narrowed his choices down to five schools in particular.

The 6-4, 316-pounder from the famed De La Salle High School in Concord, California is one of the more highly coveted players in this 2015 class, and it’s really no secret why. He’s extremely athletic for someone his size, and has that knack for getting to the ball with ease.

As of this moment, the Volunteers and head coach Butch Jones are said to be the overwhelming favorites to land McKenzie on their defensive unit when all is said and done, although there is still a lot of time left between now and next February. He recently took a visit to Knoxville and was said to be “blown away.”

He was also recently offered by the Oregon Ducks and the Miami Hurricanes are considered a bit of a darkhorse in the race to land one of the most sought after defensive players in the 2015 class.
