Los Angeles Dodgers’ outfielder Yasiel Puig was lifted from the late innings of the team’s loss to the Colorado Rockies on Friday night. While it is not clear if that removal was due to an injury or not, Puig was seen limping slightly earlier in the contest.
Regardless of what it had to do with Friday’s game, Puig is dealing with soreness in his right knee. The injury sounds minor, though, according to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com.
Puig said he has some soreness in his right knee but expects to play tomorrow.

These little dings can add up over the course of a season, but it sounds like this is nothing that will affect Puig’s ability to stay on the field. His value to the Dodgers was on display Friday night as he drove in the team’s only two runs, including a blast of a solo home run in the first inning off Rockies’ starter Jordan Lyles.
The Dodgers are sputtering a little bit so far in 2014, at least by their gaudy standards. At 13-11, the team is surely hoping to get Clayton Kershaw back in the fold and to avoid any injuries, nagging or otherwise, to key players like Puig.
