We live in a world where the likes of His Holiness Pope John Paul II is now a saint. We also live in a world where the Seattle Sounders are the top team in this week’s MLS Power Rankings on the MLS Multiplex. Finally, we live in a world where D.C. United have risen from the ashes to be a team worth fearing.

Strange world we live in. Here’s this week’s MLS Power Rankings.

1. Seattle Sounders

A Clint Dempsey brace in the 47th and 52nd minutes of play paced Sigi Schmid’s Seattle Sounders to a comfortable 4-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Wash. Other goalscorers include Lamar Neagle (45′ + 1′) and Obafemi Martins (75′). The Sounders are back in action on May 3 when they host the Philadelphia Union. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET and will be televised by MLS LIVE, The Comcast Network and Q13 FOX.
