Final 2014 SEC spring game attendance numbers; Alabama and Auburn draw over 70,000

The 2014 college football spring sessions are just about over with only a few teams left to take the field in preparation of the 2014 season, but the power teams in the Southeastern Conference are finished; and once again the people came out in full force to watch their favorite programs.

Here’s a look at the final attendance numbers for the spring scrimmages in the SEC, with each number compared to that of the 2013 version of the game.

Alabama 73,506 78,315
Auburn 70,645 83,401
Tennessee 68,548 61,706
Georgia 46,073 45,113
South Carolina 36,412 35,218

LSU 18,565 28,000
Ole Miss 15,000 28,000
Vanderbilt 8,400 14,000

Especially give the attendance numbers for Auburn and Alabama, you can see that college football is still the most popular sport in the south, and always will be.

You can also see how much buzz Butch Jones is beginning to create with the Tennessee Volunteers program, seeing a huge jump in their attendance from last season and nearly hitting that 70,000 mark.

No matter how many people were in attendance, it was still exciting to watch some college football over the past few weeks and it was a reminder that the regular season is only a few months away.
