Kevin Garnett says he blacked out against Toronto Raptors

When Brooklyn Nets power forward Kevin Garnett isn’t requesting to hear more from the fans, he’s apparently blacking out.

That’s what Garnett said happened during the Nets’ Game 3 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

According to KG, late in the second quarter during a Nets run, Garnett began pounding the floor and tugging on his jersey, urging on the crowd – but apparently he doesn’t recall doing it? Why not? He said it all went black for him.

“I blacked out at that point,” he said. “I have a kid at the games. Being an example, a role model, all that goes out the door. I’m playing on heart at that point, my passion. I’m playing off the crowd — my friends are there, my teammates, J-[Kidd]. I’m just going. I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m going.”

Garnett is quite the intense guy when on the court – some may say too intense – but given what we know about KG, this does seem to fit his mold. A bit odd, but that’s Garnett for you.
