The New York Rangers dropped the ball in Game 4 when they could have pushed the Philadelphia Flyers to the brink of elimination but instead lost and allowed the series to get evened up at 2-2. But in front of a home crowd at Madison Square Garden the Rangers are looking to get that third win in the series and they’ve gotten out to a nice start in doing so.
Marc Staal scored the first goal of the game in the opening period to get the Rangers a much needed 1-0 lead.
New York’s top line has been coming through at times for them at times and this was an example of the unit moving the puck around with relative ease and getting a goal out of it. Martin St. Louis and Derek Stepan got in on the goal as well, each picking up an assist and the top line of the Rangers has started out strong.
