It seems in the past few weeks that WWE has finally found something constructive to do with Wade Barrett, or as he’s now known, Bad News Barrett, and that could have something to do with the man in charge, Vince McMahon, taking a liking to the British star.
According to a report from F4WOnline via WrestleZone, the reason lately for the push that Barrett is receiving, particularly in the current Intercontinental Championship Tournament, is due to the fact that McMahon has indeed been very high on him, especially since his impressive promo at the recent Hall of Fame ceremony.
Vince McMahon is reportedly very high on the Bad News Barrett gimmick, and it’s being said his stock went way up in WWE following his promo/speech at the Hall of Fame ceremony.
Barrett has bounced back and forth between gimmicks since his debut as the leader of the Nexus back in 2010 as well as battling some injuries.
However you can tell that Barrett the person is legitimately having fun with the character while he’s out there performing, and McMahon himself has publicly stated that’s how characters ultimately get over; when the person playing it has a legitimate interest in the direction.
