Apparently his pre-game warm up went as well as expected because the Colorado Avalanche have announced that forward Matt Duchene will play on Monday night in Game 6 of Colorado’s first-round series against the Minnesota Wild.
The announcement of Duchene’s return came via Twitter just before puck drop.
Duchene has been out of the Avalanche lineup since suffering a knee injury on March 29 against San Jose. He missed the last eight games of the regular season, and the first five games of the playoffs with the injury.
The Olympic athlete lead the surprising Avalanche with 70 points this season, and should provide Colorado with a major boost of energy as they look to advance to the second round of the NFL playoffs.
