Los Angeles Clippers lose Carmax sponsorship

State Farm is reportedly considering dropping their sponsorship of the Los Angeles Clippers in light of the racist comments made by team owner Donald Sterling, but they will not be the first sponsor to drop the team.

On Monday morning, Carmax has announced that they will no longer be associating with the Clippers organization because of Sterling’s comments, which will end a nine-year relationship with the team.

“CarMax finds the statements attributed to the Clippers’ owner completely unacceptable,” the company said in a statement to TMZ.com.

“These views directly conflict with CarMax’s culture of respect for all individuals. While we have been a proud Clippers sponsor for 9 years and support the team, fans and community, these statements necessitate that CarMax end its sponsorship.”

We would expect to see more sponsors pulling their deals in the coming days as the backlash from Sterling’s comments continues.
