The Los Angeles Clippers are the talk of basketball for all of the wrong reasons thanks to the racist comments allegedly made by team owner Donald Sterling. In wake of his comments, there has been an outpouring of support for the idea of taking the team away from him and selling the team to new ownership.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, one potential owner who is jockeying to rescue the Clippers is Los Angeles Dodgers owner Magic Johnson.

"Magic’s Dodgers group is angling for a Southern California sports empire. … Between the Dodgers and Clippers, Magic Johnson could be the face of two championship contenders. … “This is 100 percent Magic’s plan,” a league official intimately involved in the buying and selling of franchises told Yahoo Sports."

Johnson was directly named in the phone recordings in which Sterling went on his racist rant and while the NBA would have to pay Sterling a substantial amount of money to go away, there seems to be no price tag on getting him out of the league and getting the Clippers into new hands.

Should those hands end up being those of Magic Johnson and his Los Angeles Dodgers group, then this sick and disgusting story will have a surprisingly satisfying outcome.
