Hopefully the mess that certain New York Mets media created by criticizing Daniel Murphy can go by the wayside in San Diego.

Darren Smith of The Mighty 1090 in San Diego reports that Padres second baseman Jedd Gyorko is going on the paternity list. The team has called up Tommy Medica to take his place, and it’s possible that Gyorko will miss the three game series against the Giants in San Francisco. Gyorko was recently given a contract extension and a hefty raise, so it would appear that the timing is pretty good for the 25-year old.

Here’s hoping that San Diego can stay classy.
