Paul Simon arrested on domestic violence charge


According to the Hollywood Reporter, 12-time Grammy Award winner Paul Simon was arrested in New Canaan, Conn. on a domestic violence and disorderly conduct charge following a dispute their New Canaan home on Saturday night. The report was confirmed by the Norwalk Superior Court, which is where Simon will be arraigned later in the day at around noon ET.

Simon’s wife, Edie Brickell, was also charged with disorderly conduct. The couple has been married since 1992 and they share three children.

Very little information has been brought to light surrounding the dispute, with the New Canaan Police Department telling NBCConnecticut that Simon was simply arrested on “some sort of a domestic violence charge.”

Both Simon and Brickell were released from custody after agreeing to appear in Norwalk Superior Court for their arraignment today, which is where more details on the incident will be released.
