Earlier this year, comic book legend Stan Lee stunned Marvel fans when he told Dweebcast host Andy Riesmeyer that he would not be making a cameo in the upcoming Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy. Thankfully, the crisis has been averted, and the Marvel legend will be making an appearance in the film after all.
As I said before, the ordeal first began back on January 21st when Stan Lee was a guest on Dweebcast to talk about a number of things, one of which was Guardians of the Galaxy. When the host asked him if he would be making an appearance in the film, Lee said that he would not.
“No, I’m afraid not,” he told the host. “This is the one group that I didn’t create. I didn’t write Guardian of the Galaxy. I’m not even sure who they all are. I can’t wait to see the movie.”
It would seem that the situation has since changed, much to the happiness of Marvel fans around the world. According to Variety, Lee spoke at the c2e2 expo in Chicago on Sunday revealing that he would be in the film after all.
“I did, already,” he responded to the question at his panel. “I can’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you I do not understand what it was or why I did it. It has me with a girl — a very pretty girl — that’s all I can tell you.”
So, rest assured Marvel fans, the circle will not be broken with Guardians of the Galaxy.
Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, and the voice talents of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel as Rocket Raccoon and Groot. The film also stars Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Djimon Hounsou, and many more.
Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled to be released in RealD 3D, IMAX 3D, and Conventional Theaters on August 1, 2014.
