The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced on Tuesday afternoon that they would be making their Mexico debut on Nov. 15 of this year with a card headlined by a heavyweight title fight between current champion Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum.
Prior to their meeting inside of the octagon, Velasquez and Werdum will serve as the head coaches of the inaugural season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Latino America.”
Along with the Velasquez vs. Werdum title fight, the UFC will host the “TUF: Latino America” finale on the same card. The UFC has yet to announce when or where the show will air and what weight classes will be associated with the show.
“You know I want to come to Mexico with a bang so you know I’m going to bring some good fights here,” UFC president Dana White said at the press conference on Tuesday.
Tickets for the event, UFC 180, will go on sale in August.
