Less than three weeks ago, the Missouri Tigers had to make an extremely tough decision and dismiss star wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham from the team.
Green-Beckham was involved in an alleged burglary in which he reportedly shoved a female while attempting to force his way into an apartment, which caused ”bruising and swelling of her right wrist and limited movement of her fingers on her right hand.”
After the dismissal, Tigers’ coach Gary Pinkel issued a statement.
“Dorial’s priority…needs to be focusing on getting the help he needs,” Pinkel said.
According to Josh Newberg of 24/7 Sports, it looks like Green-Beckham will try to get that help at Eastern Illinois.
Newberg, citing a reliable source, reports Green-Beckham “will likely” head to Eastern Illinois and because it is an FCS program, he would be eligible to play immediately .
Last season, Green-Beckham made 59 receptions for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Former Kentucky Wildcats’ quarterback Jalen Whitlow will likely be joining Green-Beckham at Eastern Illinois.
Whitlow completed 98-of-159 passes for 1,033 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions last season.
