Jalen Whitlow: Former Kentucky QB transferring to Eastern Illinois with Dorial Green-Beckham

Former Kentucky Wildcats quarterback, Jalen Whitlow, is transferring to Eastern Illinois, according to a report from 247Sports.

Whitlow has two years of eligibility remaining and will be eligible to play immediately by transferring to the lower division and could have a big target to throw to as the same 247Sports report from Josh Newberg states former Missouri wide receiver, Dorial Green-Beckham is likely transferring to the school in Charleston, Ill. as well.

Whitlow brought a dual-threat element to the position last season finishing with 1,033 yards passing on 61.6 percent passing with five touchdowns and five interceptions in eight starts. He also added 457 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground, including running for 101 in the team’s win against Alabama State.

Eastern Illinois has an opening at quarterback with Jimmy Garoppolo heading to the NFL where he could be a second round pick and is the alma mater of Tony Romo and current New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and former NFL head coaches Mike Shanahan and Brad Childress.

Eastern Illinois went 10-2 last season, advancing to the FCS Semifinals under former head coach Dino Babers.
