There are already a lot of rumors surrounding the release of Lil Wayne’s next studio album, Tha Carter V. According to his label-mate Drake, the album is set to be released on May 5.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
At a concert at the House of Blues in New Orleans on Friday, Feb. 14, Drake brought out the rapper and announced that his hotly-anticipated fifth installment in the “Carter” album series will be out May 5, according to video footage of the show posted by MotaHipHop.
Weezy’s labelmate made the announcement while onstage at a concert as part of kickoff festivities for the NBA All-Star game that’s to be held in New Orleans on Sunday, Feb. 16.
Apparently that isn’t the case according to Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant. NeverNotDopeTV asked Bryant about the May 5th release date, and Bryant simply said “no.”
When he asked what’s up, Bryant simply said “you’ll see.” Bryant went on to say he won’t release it till he is certain.
So as for when that will be, we don’t know yet. But Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant tweeted out what appears to be the cover of Tha Carter V album.
