The Indiana Pacers are putting out a pretty pathetic showing in their first — and possibly only — round of the postseason and things need to change in their game 5 showdown against the Atlanta Hawks if they don’t want to go down as one of the biggest crash and burn cases in NBA history.

Not only are they the No. 1 seed but they were supposedly the only formidable opponent for the Miami Heat. Now that they’re down 3-2 to the No. 8 seeded Hawks and the Heat just swept their way through the Charlotte Bobcats, things are getting desperate in Indiana and Frank Vogel is willing to do just about anything.

Let’s be frank, Vogel is coaching his job here and that’s been the case for a while. He was on the rise last season as the next big thing in basketball but now he’s on the verge of losing his job. There are those who say Vogel’s job is safe but losing in the first round of the postseason when you’re the No. 1 seed is not a good way to show you’re the right man for the job.
