After a terrible 27-55 season, the Los Angeles Lakers had a big decision to make regarding the future of head coach Mike D’Antoni.
Soon-to-be Lakers’ free agent Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill reportedly don’t like playing for D’Antoni while impending free agent Chris Kaman has voiced his displeasure.
On Friday, a report surfaced claiming the Lakers have decided to keep D’Antoni for at least one more season.
That clearly isn’t enough for D’Antoni. He does not want to be a lame-duck coach and wants the Lakers to exercise his option for the 2015-16 season, assuring him of at least two more seasons in Los Angeles.
On Monday, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reported that D’Antoni hasn’t backed down from his position, but neither have the Lakers.
