After a one game appearance, Hal Gill’s stint in the Philadelphia Flyers lineup has come to an end, as the team has announced that Erik Gustafsson will take Gill’s place on the ice for Philadelphia’s Game 6 matchup against the New York Rangers.
Gustafsson played just 31 games for the Flyers during the regular season, and has yet to appear in a playoff game for the team this year. Flyers head coach Craig Berube gave his reasoning for the change after the team’s morning skate on Tuesday.
I like his speed,” Berube said via Philly.com. “He’s a quick player getting up ice. Just looking at that aspect of it.”
Puck drop between Philadelphia and New York is at 7:30 on NBCSN from Philadelphia. A Flyers win forces a Game 7 in New York on Wednesday.
