New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski started the season late as he recovered from an injury, only to have it cut short by a torn ACL in December. Now he faces the task of trying to get ready for another season coming off an injury, and isn’t ready to say he’ll be ready for Week One, instead choosing to deflect questions.

“Oh man, that’s too far away. I’m just improving every day right now,” Gronkowski said Tuesday on the “Hill-Man Show” on WAAF-FM, via ESPN Boston. “I’m working hard every day to put myself in the best situation so that I’m ready.”

Gronkowski added: “I’m actually improving every week. It’s feeling good and coming along very well.”

The New England Patriots open the season on the road against the Miami Dolphins, and quarterback Tom Brady certainly needs targets though the situation isn’t necessarily as dire as it was heading into the 2013 season.
