The NBA will hold a press conference this afternoon in which commissioner Adam Silver is expected to speak on the controversy involving racist comments allegedly made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. While the recording has up to this point allegedly been Sterling’s, a report from TMZ states that NBA lawyers have authenticated the tape which means when Silver takes the podium this afternoon he’s expected to confirm what we’ve all been suspecting.

Per TMZ:

"Two NBA lawyers left the law firm representing V. Stiviano Monday … and sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ Sports … the lawyers are now convinced — the racist audio of Donald Sterling is REAL."

It was widely suspected that Sterling’s voice was indeed on the tape and if the TMZ report is true then there will be license to suspend, fine and punish Sterling to the harshest extent possible. Adam Silver won’t end up speaking until this afternoon but it appears that the verdict is already in on Sterling and his racist comments and all that is awaiting is proper punishment from the NBA.
