Brian Hoyer was back on the field with his Cleveland Brown teammates Tuesday for the first time since he tore an anterior cruciate ligament in his knee last October.
Showing up, he was limited to specific plays and was watched closely to insure no further damage was done prior to being 100% ready for hard hitting maneuvers. He cannot do team drills yet, but simply practice individual work.
“Assertive is a good way to describe him,” tight end Jordan Cameron said. The attitude is great coming off an injury. One must be motivated and work through the hard times to get back to where he was some six months ago.
“I know we don’t play a game until August, but I also know that in order to be the guy in August you put the time in in the offseason,” Hoyer said.
Eager is an understatement; the man seems to be willing to do anything it takes to be ready for the coming season.
Simply put, Hoyer is glad to be back:
“It was awesome. I felt really good, which was no surprise to me. I felt like I was prepared for this for a while. It’s just good to play football again.”
