Two Madrid teams enter the Champions League semi-final, and both Madrid teams won. Atletico Madrid defeated the 2012 winners Chelsea and Real Madrid defeated the 2013 champions Bayern Munich to set up the affair.

It is the first time two teams from the same city will compete in the Champions League final and the second consecutive year two teams from the same domestic league will play in the final.

From an international stand point, it might not be the most compelling match up to fans out of Madrid or Spain but it still promises to be an entertaining affair. Both teams field high powered offenses and are capable of scoring goals at at will. In the second leg against Chelsea, Atletico Madrid scored three goals at Stamford Bridge. Against Bayern Munich in the second leg, on the road, Real Madrid scored four goals.

For Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, it is a chance to win the Champions League in his home country.
