Jameis Winston: Leon County Sheriff's Department to hold press conference about 'contact' with FSU QB

Wednesday morning we learned of reports that Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has reportedly found himself in a little bit more hot water with the law after allegedly being cited for stealing crabs from a local Publix supermarket.

Shortly after the reports, the Leon County Sheriff’s Department down in Florida confirmed that while Winston was not arrested and taken into custody, they did have ‘contact’ with the Heisman winner.

According to the Leon County Sheriff’s Department, deputies have had recent “contact” with Florida State University football star Jameis Winston.

At this time the department would not go into details about the situation or how Winston was involved. WTXL did check with the Leon County Jail, as of Wednesday morning Winston has not been arrested.

Also in that report, the Sheriff’s Department stated that they will be holding a 2 PM ET news conference to address what happened in the incident.

Winston’s previous brush with the law was last year when sexual assault allegations came to light while Winston was on his Heisman campaign and the Seminoles were on their march toward the national championship.
