Now that the Chicago Bulls have been bounced from the postseason by the Washington Wizards, the question of the offseason becomes what happens to Tom Thibodeau. Earlier in the season, Thibodeau was rumored to be looking at the New York Knicks job and his name surfaced again after Phil Jackson was hired.

He has since denied interest in that job but Sam Amico from Fox Sports Ohio says Thibodeau’s future is the first order of business on the docket.

It’s unclear just what Amico is talking about here, as there’s no way the Bulls are firing Thibodeau and he’s under contract for the next two seasons at just over $4 million per year. With no other lucrative jobs out there, it seems unlikely that Thibodeau would quit and he won’t be forced out.

The first order of business will actually be signing Nikola Mirotic but perhaps the Bulls can use the meantime to calm whatever bogus Thibodeau rumors that may be starting to bubble from somewhere.
