The Tampa Bay Buccaneers seemed to have decided against drafting a quarterback in the first round with Mike Glennon on the roster and signing former Bears back-up Josh McCown. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers would “strongly consider” drafting Manziel if he was still around at their No. 6 pick.

“Unless they get the Heisman stiff-arm from one of the six teams picking ahead of them, the Bucs will give heavy consideration to selecting Johnny Manziel in next week’s draft,” Stroud writes.

McCown has already been labeled the starter, but said he would be willing to mentor a young quarterback if the Bucs drafted one.

“They all seem like nice kids. They look so young,” McCown said, via the Tampa Bay Times. “It was cool to say hello to them; just briefly with Johnny (Manziel) and Teddy (Bridgewater) and Jimmy (Garoppolo). Just, ‘Hey. How’s it going?’ and wish them well. It’s funny. You look at them, and you think back a few years and remember how fast it can go.”
