The San Jose Sharks scored a ridiculous amount of goals in the first three games of their series against the Los Angeles Kings but somehow managed to get themselves into a Game 7 situation. Now that they’ve lost three straight, the Sharks are going back to netminder Antti Niemi for the most crucial game of their season up to this point.
According to David Pollack as well as other reports, Niemi is getting the nod in Game 7 after being replaced by Alex Stalock in Game 6. But the 4-1 loss proved that a change in net was not what was needed and Niemi will return to either make or break the Sharks’ season.
They seem to always enter as Stanley Cup threats but the Sharks never come out ahead. This year again looked like they were going to be the offensive juggernauht to beat but they’ve now dropped three straight to the Kings and are in the worst shape they’ve been in a long time this season.
