It would seem as if Morena Baccarin is preparing to hit the big screen once again. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Homeland actress is set to join the cast of the new comedy Spy.

The film will surround the hilarious misadventures of a CIA Analyst named Susan Cooper, which is being played in the film by Mike & Molly actress Melissa McCarthy, who is being sent out into the field for the very first time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Baccarin will be playing the role of one of the agency’s most deadly, top level spies.

Most recently, Baccarin can be seen as the Caped Crusader’s love interested Talia al Ghul in the upcoming straight to Blu-Ray and DVD animated adventure from Warner Bros. and DC Comics, Son of Batman.

However, fans of the Whedonverse will always remember her as Inara Serra from the cult television classic Firefly and the subsequent film Serenity.

Spy is being both written and directed by Paul Feig. This is certainly not the first time he has worked with Melissa McCarthy or his first venture into the comedy genre. Feig directed both Bridesmaids and The Heat both starring McCartney.

The film stars Melissa McCarthy as Susan Cooper. Spy also stars Neighbors actress Rose Byrne, The ExpendablesJason Statham, Jude Law, Allison Janney, Nia Long, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and more.

Spy is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2015.
