The Chicago Bulls were recently given an early exit from the NBA Playoffs by the young, upstart Washington Wizards, which has led to some heat being thrust upon head coach Tom Thibodeau. With this, there are many that believe his time might be drawing to a close as the leader of the team, and it appears now that the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to capitalize on that.
The Lakers plan to reach out to the Chicago Bulls for permission to interview Tom Thibodeau, a league source tells http://t.co/8DsJGhr2Pi

The Lakers are in search of a head coach at the moment following the resignation of Mike D’Antoni late Wednesday night after the team would not pick up the option that he requested.
What should also be noted in this news is the fact that Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo recently reported that Thibodeau would be a coach that Kobe Bryant would “wish for.”
Bryant will wish for Tom Thibodeau to free himself from Chicago. He loves Jeff Van Gundy, and shares management’s affinity for Euro legend Ettore Messina, who spent a season on Mike Brown’s staff.
This is quite the interesting, early development in the Lakers search, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
