The Texas A&M Aggies continue to show why they have become one of the elite programs recruiting-wise under head coach Kevin Sumlin (of course whether that continues to translate two wins in Sumlin’s first year without star quarterback Johnny Manziel is the big question).
On Thursday, the Aggies landed a commitment from 4-star junior college safety Justin Evans.
“I just got off the phone with the head man and I told him I was ready to commit,” Evans broke to GigEm247. “Coach Sumlin said that A&M was the place I need to be at and fit what they needed and I could help them win next year. That’s all I needed to hear and I said I’m committing.
“He was excited. Coach Sumlin says he tweets out Yessir when he gets a commit so I gotta go check that out.”
The 6’0, 185-pound Evans attends Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
He has not been ranked as a prospect yet, but has an impressive list of offers, including the Auburn Tigers, Baylor Bears, Georgia Bulldogs and Nebraska Cornhuskers.
