The official announcement was made that the Cleveland Browns have signed veteran quarterback Vince Young. General manager Ray Farmer made the statement after Young attended a three day mini-camp this week.
Vince Young did not play last season and Farmer wanted to ensure he still had what it took to be an excellent candidate for the Browns.
Young is expected to back up current quarterback Brian Hoyer.
The 2011 season Young played with the Eagles; the last regular season play he saw. Young received a one year contract; beyond that, anything can happen. Despite a short contract, this is an excellent chance to keep his football playing career alive:
“One thing a lot of people don’t know, I love this game so much. I do a lot of different things, the Play 60 football teams I have in Houston, I just love being around the game, teaching the next generation. I’m just happy to be a part of the game.”
