Angels recall infielder Grant Green from Triple-A Salt Lake

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will be calling up 26 year old utility man Grant Green from Triple-A Salt Lake according to the Angels official PR Twitter account.

Grant will be making his first stint of the 2014 season with the Angels against the Texas Rangers tonight in left field. Green has been hitting .365/.412/.529 with three home runs and 28 RBI’s through 26 games with the Salt Lake Bees. There’s a very good chance that Green will be staying with the big league club for awhile, even when Josh Hamilton returns from his thumb injury.

This will give the Angels an opportunity to try him out at third base.

Side note: The Angels outright lefty Michael Roth to Double-A Arkansas yesterday after he was designated for assignment earlier on in the week. The 24 year old pitcher went through waivers untouched, so he’ll report back to the Double-A affiliate.
