Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare not coming to Wii U

Alongside the revealing of the brand new Call of Duty, subtitled Advanced Warfare, developer Sledgehammer Games has also released listings for the game on the UK version of Amazon.

Interestingly enough, the game, while listed for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4, is not listed for release on Nintendo’s Wii U.

FanSided has reached out to Sledgehammer Games, Activision and Nintendo for comment on this matter. We will update this post as we receive word from the companies.

Why even bother with a PS3 & Xbox 360 version? Not trying to be spiteful, I’m actually serious.

    • Carl Fin

Because, from a business perspective, at this point in the life cycle of all consoles involved, they will sell more games this way. The ps4 and xbox one have a tiny install based compared to the ps3 and xbox360 and by the time the ps4 and xbox 1 have a large enough audience to matter hugely, they will have a new COD game on the way. It will be at least 3 years before the last gen of both are phased out. Logically enough.

      • Shrish Kumar

You know actually, Wii, 3DS and DS also have very large base.
        Also, last gen, we had

        X360+PS3+PSP=80+80+70=230M
        Wii+DS=100+150=250M
I guess that pretty much justifies that Nintendo is DOOOOMED.
        Peace.

          DS is dead

          • Carl Fin

Your lack of relevance is astounding. Man I hate video games these days. It’s like high school where popularity is all that matters.

          • Anonymous GX

I’m sorry, are you actually questioning MY relevance? Tell me one game that has come out on the DS in the past year. In fact I’ll give you two years.

          • Carl Fin

We were talking about sales for last Gen. You are talking about now. Thus, irrelevant.

I can’t blame them for not releasing a Wii U version, but before you judge me hear me out. They screwed themselves when people bought Black Ops 2 expecting DLC and then shortly after release heard there’d be no DLC. Sales flopped off and online stagnated. Ghosts came out and fewer bought it and despite being given a single extra map, nobody is buying it (partially because of the reviews too). Nintendo gamers don’t buy into crap. They don’t buy into being given the run around. It’s a vicious cycle that started with BO2, in my own opinion.

While you have a point, you’re basically saying that you are okay with them not bothering to give a damn. You’re saying that since they don’t want to put a real amount of effort into the game, they might as well not make it at all.

      • Daniel Golightly

That is what I’m saying as far as they might as well not make it if they won’t put in effort.

      • NonCasualGamer

Sony and Microsoft fanboys are used to this. All they want are sales and graphics. Good games are an afterthought.

your a idiot lol and the failure is the xbone….

      • Daniel Golightly

I didn’t say the Wii U was a failure. I said the developers/publishers of COD won’t bring it for reasons that themselves they created.

      • Anonymous GX

        LOL

  • fnnxkss

its not listed yet so that means nothing, so that means they are still talking this guys a idiot that wrote this article lol…..by the way the Wii u kicks ass….xbone is a total failure so why is it coming to that crap system since it only sold 3.4 million in sales and the Wii u is at 6.5 million and the ps4 at 7 million so who’s that failure ? xbone….

    • HouseOfCards

What? The wii u has been out for almost 2 years and it’s only sold 6.5 million. The xbox 1 and ps4 have been out for 6 months. So yeah the wiiu is the only one failing here.

Side note im a pc gamer bur your comment was very ignorant so I had to put my two cents in.

  • JuleyJules

This happened with CoD:Ghosts – it was announced after the others – and EVERYONE jumped to conclusions and bashed the Wii U. Same old f***in’ story!! If in a few months this is true then there will be a story. Until then we wait to see if Activision & Nintendo are waiting to announce around E3.

  • NonCasualGamer

This better come to the Wii u. The only fps I’ve played since world at war is black ops black ops 2, just for the zombies.

  • Gabe Hoffman

This means nothing. Not listed is not the same as officially not coming. Activison has a habit of announcing the Nintendo versions of COD later or at the last moment
