Kentucky football recruiting: 3-star C Luke Hiers commits to Wildcats

Head coach Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats are rolling on the recruiting trail, especially on the offensive line.

On Thursday, the Wildcats added a commitment from 3-star center Luke Hiers.

Hiers joins 3-star offensive tackle Logan Stenberg of James Clemens (Madison, AL) , 3-star offensive tackle Larry Wells of Kenton (Kenton, OH) and 3-star offensive guard Mason Wolfe of Henderson County (Henderson, KY) as Wildcats’ commitments.

Hiers announced his decision via twitter.

The 6’3, 295-pound Hiers attends Lake Wales High School in Lake Wales Florida. He is ranked as the nation’s fifth-best center prospect, the 65th-best overall prospect in the state of Florida and the 499th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Hiers has visited the Miami Hurricanes and Louisville Cardinals, among others, but has been to Kentucky three times since November.

He chose the Wildcats over offers from the Duke Blue Devils, Louisville Cardinals, LSU Tigers and Massachusetts Minutemen, among others.
