There are still a number of veterans who are without Major League Baseball contracts, but there are a couple that are very surprising.
You have guys like Stephen Drew and Kendrys Morales still looking for a place to call home, but nothing has been tossed there way just yet. Morales’ luck could be coming around very soon as the Baltimore Orioles remain interested in the veteran designated hitter/first baseman’s services according to CBS Sports.
Jon Heyman has noted that the Orioles and Morales have been talking on and off over the last few weeks but there’s a gap in between the two. Baltimore had some interest in him during the off-season.
Baltimore has reportedly offered Morales a one year, $8 million contract but it appears that he’s holding out for a little more. Give it at least a month or two and he’ll be signing a deal that’s worth either less than the $14.1 million or $8 million the longest he holds out.
The Orioles could make another offer to Morales before the Major League Baseball in June.
