Todd Bertuzzi still wants to play professional hockey, and he wants to do it with the Detroit Red Wings.
The 39-year-old pending UFA has scene success with the Red Wings, and would love to return to the Motor City to continue his career, but isn’t sure if he is in the team’s future plans. Bertuzzi stated that, while he’s upset about not playing in the postseason this year, he still considers Detroit the best city he’s ever played in, and feels he can still contribute.
“I still feel like I can play, and I’d love to come back, but I don’t know if there’s room,” Bertuzzi said via the Detroit Free Press. “If there’s no room here, or the coaching staff doesn’t feel there is a fit for me, I’ll look to see if there is anything else out there.”
