The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have made a couple roster moves over the last two days that featured infield prospect Grant Green.
Now just a day later, the Angels will be calling up infielder Luis Jimenez from Triple-A Salt Lake. The 26 year old will be starting at third base for the big league club tonight against the Texas Rangers but may not stick with the big league club as long as Green will.
Not only will Jimenez be joining the Angels, but so will Triple-A teammate C.J. Cron. Salt Lake’s first baseman was hitting .319/.369/.602 across the line with six home runs, 26 RBI’s and a handful of extra base hits (12 doubles) in just 28 games with the Minor League affiliate.
The young 24 year old has an opportunity to make himself known with the big league club. If he’s able to perform well, he might see himself on the active roster for the remainder of the year. Hopefully he’s able to carry over his play from the Minors to ‘The Show’.
