What’s better than hitting your 100th career home run?
How about hitting it over the Green Monster at Fenway Park…and making it a grand slam.
In the sixth inning against the Oakland A’s, Dustin Pedroia did just that, putting the Boston Red Sox up 6-1 on Friday night.
Pedroia crushed one high into the Boston night air off A’s reliever Ryan Cook that landed in the first row of seats on top of the monster, and umpires had to review to make sure the ball had actually cleared the wall.
The grand slam was the second of Pedroia’s career, and along with being his 100th career homer, also gave him his 500th career RBI.
