The Seattle Mariners are currently talking on the Houston Astros, two teams who happen to be at the bottom of the American League West standings.
Seattle is currently in fourth place with a 13-15 and four games out, while the Astros currently hold the second worst record in the league. Astros are 10-20 and are eight games out of first place. But it’s still early!
Now first baseman Justin Smoak stepped up to the plate during the top of the seventh and drew a walk. Once the Mariners batted around, Smoak was up to the plate once again. This time Justin had the opportunity to stretch the lead and he did exactly that.
Smoak launched a two run home run deep to left field to make it 9-2 at the time. I thought the ball was going to leave the ball-park, but it didn’t. Oakland Athletic’s Josh Donaldson smoked a ball to left field that ended up hitting the train tracks above the stands.
Here’s a look at Justin Smoak’s no-doubt home run against the Houston Astros.
