There has been some serious questions asked of the future Scott Brooks has in Oklahoma City but all of the doubts about his jobs security seem to be overblown. While the Thudner — the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference — are in a Game 7 situation with the Memphis Grizzlies, Brooks isn’t thought to be as on the bubble as it was being made out as such earlier in the week.
Scott Brooks is said to be safe in Oklahoma City, where he has two years left at $4 million per and works for the supremely patient GM Sam Presti.
The Thunder have been frustrating to watch over the past three years as they nearly won a title in 2012 and have been close ever since Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Brooks popped in 2011. Still, close only gets you so much credit and while Brooks may be safe this year the patience of general manager Sam Presti may be running out very soon if the losing postseason ways continue.
