Game of Thrones: ‘First of His Name’ Best GIFs of the Night

Now that tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones has come to a close, we will re-live all of the action by taking a look at some of the best GIFS of the night.

Tonight was certainly an interesting one in the realm of Westeros. A new king has been crowned. Unfortunately, his fate may lie in the hands of two people who may not exactly have his best interests at heart.

The mother of dragons has received an update on the state of things in King’s Landing. She seemed slightly surprised when she learned of the death of King Joffrey; however, there is nothing in this realm that can deter her from her quest. One day, Daenerys Targaryen will sit atop the Iron Throne. That is, if she has anything to say about it.

Lord Baelish aided Sansa in making her escape from King’s Landing and delivered her safely into the arms of her aunt Lysa. Unfortunately, it would seem that Sansa is not the only person Lysa’s arms are open to.

When we catch up with Arya and the Hound, we find Arya more determined than ever to exact revenge upon those who would harm her family; including her travelling companion. Unfortunately, when she takes a run at him, things don’t exactly turn out the way she planned.

Brienne is still on her mission to locate Sansa and make sure that she is safe. Unfortunately, things between her and Podrick are not exactly going as smoothly as one would hope; especially not after he burned their dinner.

The mutineers attempted to step up their game in the torture of Bran, Hodor, and the rest of his traveling companions. While the mutineers prepared for an onslaught from the Night’s Watch, Bran had another one of his visions. Unlike the others he has had in the past, this one would end in a much more violent fashion.

After Locke attempts to make a move against Bran, Hodor goes into one of the trances that Bran has been getting. Suddenly, Hodor gets even stronger than he already was and breaks free of his chains. He takes Locke by the neck. After a swift snap, Locke’s lifeless body hit the ground, and they were free once again.

Finally, it is time for the epic showdown between Jon Snow and the leader of the mutineers, Karl Tanner. It is pretty safe to say that there is no love lost between these two men. Tanner is responsible for the death of one of the few men in Castle Black that really had Jon Snow’s back. When the two of them came face to face, the disrespect was soon to fly, and by disrespect, I mean spit.

Just when it looked like Tanner was about to get the upper hand, he is stabbed in the back by one of the women that he was so viciously defiling at Craster’s Keep.

When he turns his back to pursue the woman who had stabbed him in the back, he seemed to forget that Jon Snow was still standing behind him, and still very much wanted him dead.

Speaking of that, Jon took his sword and ran it straight through the back of his head and out of his mouth. I can’t think of any other way to die more befitting of a traitor and a murderer like Karl Tanner.

Finally, after Ghost took out the last of the mutineers, he was finally reunited with his owner. In one of the more touching moments of the night, the two friends were finally face to face once again.

Jon offered the women of Craster’s Keep to come along with them so that they can keep them safe; however, after what they had experienced at the hand of the mutineers, they were not so keen on the idea of staying with more men of the same brotherhood. Shocked that they wanted to remain where they were, he seemed even more puzzled when the women told him to burn it to the ground.

Once again, Jon Snow and his brother Bran were so close, yet so far away. Unfortunately, Bran has a mission to complete, as does Jon. Will the two of them ever find their way back to one another, or will the last males of the Stark line meet their end before they can ever be reunited?
