Marlins' Jeff Baker hits walk-off double vs Dodgers (video)

The Miami Marlins have won their last five of six games as they were able to squeeze by the Los Angeles Dodgers today to win the series.

Last night the Marlins were able to fight back after being down 7-3 until the bottom of the seventh when they cut the Los Angeles Dodgers lead to just one. Despite fighting back, they were unable to take the lead during extra innings and lose the game by the score of 9-7.

Now today they received a little bit of heroics by former Chicago Cubs/Texas Rangers utility man Jeff Baker. Baker was picked up by the Marlins on a two year contract during the off-season and wasn’t guaranteed to make the active roster.

Baker was brought in as a pinch hitter for second baseman Derek Dietrich and would finish 1-2 with an RBI. The biggest hit of the night by Baker was a towering fly ball to right field during the bottom of the ninth inning that would cause Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig to attempt a leaping grab he would not come down with.
