After the Golden State Warriors lost game 7 of their playoff series to the Los Angeles Clippers, the talk immediately turned as to whether or not Mark Jackson would be retained as head coach.

Jackson, who has been the Warriors’ coach for three seasons, has led the team to the playoffs for the past two seasons and reportedly has the unwavering support of his team.

But when it comes to the Golden State front office, Jackson apparently has ruffled a few feathers. According to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski, Jackson is “on an island”.

Now this isn’t to say that Jackson’s fate was sealed with the Game 7 loss, but advancing to the conference semifinals or beyond would have gone a long way towards keeping the executioners at bay.

It’s going to take a lot of lobbying on the part of his players, and probably a mea culpa or two from Jackson himself towards the Golden State front office for him to be kept on.
