It’s been quite the series for Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Wil Myers this weekend as the young talent has abused the New York Yankees in just about every way possible.
Fresh off a night where Myers clubbed a home run over the Yankee Stadium wall, the highly touted prospect did it again though this time he decided to make it even more interesting.
Tied at 1-1 in the top of the third inning, Myers hit a deep shot off Yankee starter CC Sabathia which at first glance, appeared to be easily over the wall. That was the sense Myers himself seemed to have as well as he gave the stick a mild bat flip and jogged down the first base line. But the ball didn’t carry as expected and it ended up bouncing off Jacoby Ellsbury in center field, who attempted to make the catch. Myers then hit the after burners, hauling around the bases and eventually scoring on a three-run, inside the park home run.
