Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Story Details Unveiled

While information was revealed last week as to what the Call of Duty: Advance Warfare story might focus around, more in-depth details were nonexistent.  The story though, thanks to Game Informer’s most recent issue, is becoming a bit more clear.

You can most definitely read the whole article via the Game Informer online link, or in a physical form, but a few teases are only going to make the excitement for Call of Duty’s new title more emphasized.  With Sledgehammer Games being the developer for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game, the focus will be on creating the most realistic experience possible.  As noted last week, the game will release on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 as well, but under different development.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set in the year 2054 as a terrorist group called KVA enacts an operation along the lines of, “global 9/11.” (As Game Informer puts it.)  Gamers play as Private Mitchell (Troy Baker), and join their squadmate Will Irons, in signing up for PMC “Atlas Corporation,” run by Will’s father, Jonathan Irons (Kevin Spacey).

The single player campaign will tie in aspects of other gaming genres, namely RPG, throughout different instances.  When initially joining Atlas Corporation, you will be placed in your EXO suit that can be upgraded by earning points after each mission.  With the inclusion of upgrades in the campaign for the first time, it will be interesting to see how the story shifts with the players decisions.  Obviously also including some form of multiplayer, along with some form of co-op mode, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is shaping up to have some very loft expectations.

The game will release on November 4, and should have gamers waiting in anticipation right up until that date.
