Jay Bruce, Cincinnati Reds’ outfielder, underwent successful surgery today to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Bruce is looking to miss at least a month of play.
Bruce was originally taken out of the lineup last Sunday and reports were saying he had a left knee soreness. This
Bruce is currently batting .216, has 3 home runs and 14 RBIs throughout his 102 at bats. The injury is happening at an unfortunate time, as his next RBI will be the 500th of his career.
No move has been made to replace him in the lineup yet, but it is expected to happen prior to the Reds playing the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday.
